OUR FACILITIES / STUDIO RENTALS
Creating is best done in community.
Open Works is the largest maker space in Maryland. In addition to our fabrication shops and classes, we offer 115 microstudio spaces for your small business, arts practice, hobby, or nonprofit. Our flexible, affordable studios are designed with makers in mind, putting you at the heart of Baltimore’s largest community of creative professionals. With no long-term lease agreement, no credit check, and no insurance required, we make it easy for you to stretch your resources and grow your business.
About Our Microstudios
Open Works microstudios are 7’x7′ (49 S.F.) modular plywood spaces with built-in workbenches. Your microstudio includes:
- A four-outlet power drop
- Access to wi-fi
- Storage locker at the end of the row
- Individual address (mail is received through the front desk)
- Access to a shared kitchenette & conference room
- Access-controlled, camera-monitored security
Membership access to our workshop facilities is a separate service from studio rentals, however, studio members are eligible for discounted pro memberships. Learn more on our membership page.
*Additional microstudios can be added for $185.00 per studio, per month. Resident Members may rent up to four microstudios.
1 Unit: $205/month (49 sq ft)
2 Units: $390/ month (98 sq. ft)
3 Units: $575/month (147 Sq. ft)
4 Units $760/month (196 Sq. ft)
A 1 month security deposit is due for each unit upon sign up.

Conference Room
Reserving the conference room is an exclusive perk to microstudio members! It features a conference room table that can seat 8, and has a total room capacity of 15, along with a mobile whiteboard, and screen for presentations or group video calls.
Each studio member or group may reserve the space for 2 hours per day.
For group memberships, please note that the 2 the hour limit is per group, not per person or studio.
Same day extensions or additional reservation hours may be reserved through the front desk staff for up to an additional 2 hours.
Mail Reception
Each Microstudio member can have mail and packages up to 50 pounds delivered to Open Works. Mail is received by the front desk team, and distributed to member mailslots daily.
