Maryland’s Largest Community of Creative Professionals
Join our vibrant community of makers, dreamers, and doers! Open Works was named Maryland’s largest accelerator by the Baltimore Business Journal in 2018. We provide a home to dozens of small businesses, startups, and nonprofits as well as working artists building projects for Artscape, Light City, or private commissions. With Open Works membership, makers can easily turn ideas into reality.
PATH TO MEMBERSHIP
Want to join the Open Works Community? Here’s how:
To become a member, please follow these three easy steps.
step 1
Attend Community Orientation
Orientation is a free hour long tour with a staff member, and is offered multiple times weekly! After you sign up, you will receive an email confirmation for the date and time you selected. Get a breakdown of our class offerings, see the shops and studios, and feel the vibe!
step 2
Take a Class
Take a class or two to learn the basics of the equipment you want to start with, and get signed off for independent usage.
(Not required for photo printing, vinyl cutting, 3D printing, or spray booth)
You can take classes to unlock addtional shops and equipment later as you need!
step 3
Choose Your Plan
We have membership plans to fit your business size, needs and budget. Find the plan that is right for you. Signing up for your membership plan must be done and paid for in person.
Membership is not required before signing up for classes.
