No Pix After Dark Podcast will be hosting a live podcast recording at Open Works with special guest Black Acres Roastery.

You don’t want to miss this amazing event! Come down on Sat, Oct 30 at 11am to learn about how Black Acres Roastery started and where they see themselves in the next 3-5 years. Black Acres is local black-owned business with locations in Highlandtown, Open Works, and a branch in the new Lexington Market opening in the spring. After the interview, there will be a roasting demo and coffee tasting with founder Travis Bell and head roaster Matt Nierenberg. I would like to thank Open Works for Baltimore for partnering on this event as we celebrate their 5th anniversary!

Marie Sellenrick of groundbird gear with dogs wearing her products.

You’ve met the judges and a few EnterpRISE awardees and here’s another one.

Marie Sellenrick of Groundbird Gear took home second place in 2017. Groundbird Gear makes high quality, custom fit outdoor gear for dogs. Marie, who is an avid backpacker and sculptor started, Groundbird Gear after being unable to find gear to fit her own dog. Since 2014 Groundbird has made gear for over 600 trail dogs and counting.

The pandemic drove up demand for outdoor gear, and over the summer it was tough to get your paws on their stuff. Better check out their comfy looking quilts and adorable yet functional saddle bags while they’re accepting orders.

Keep your eye out as we’ll be announcing the finalists for EnterpRISE 2021 soon!
