Open Works COVID-19 Update 1/15/2021
Open Works COVID-19 Update 1/15/2021
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Greenmount West Community Center and the New Greenmount West Community Association have been collecting and distributing food to neighbors in need. As of the new year, they have been able to secure larger donations from 4MyCity, and they asked for our help with transportation. Going forward, Open Works will be hauling food for 30-40 families up from the warehouse in Pigtown for neighborhood distribution each week. We made our first run Monday!
In addition to food, Open Works supports other mutual aid efforts, including collecting old computers for the Baltimore Digital Equity Coalition and launching free wi-fi (coming this spring) with WAVEs.
Want to help? Click one of the links embedded above or click here to donate to 4MyCity’s food security efforts. Thank you!
