Countdown to Reopening — FIVE DAYS!

Hello!

We are SO EXCITED to welcome you back next week! We’ve been busy upgrading the space, installing new storage, setting up new tools, and making sure we are ready to be as safe as humanly possible.

Like that crisp orange woodgrain mask? It’s fresh out of SewLab USA’s workshop one block south of Open Works, spiffed up with custom graphics just for our members. Each one is three-layer polyester for maximum comfort, with an activated charcoal middle layer for maximum effectiveness. Available for $12 in our lobby. We are also stocking Earth Elements Soapworks 4 oz. personal hand sanitizers. $8/bottle for a lovely citrus mimosa scent. Both products proudly #madeinbaltimore.

Reopening Protocols

While we are excited to welcome you back, we need your help to maintain a safe and orderly environment for everyone. Please keep in mind the following:

+ Resident members are welcome back on July 1st. Billing for studios only ($125/month) will resume then. Cancellations accepted through 6/30, email april@openworksbmore.com. Please use July 1, 2 and 3 to clean out your space, get rid of old junk, and get ready for a new season of making, We will have extra cleaning supplies available and have scheduled an extra dumpster pickup for next week.

+ Everyone else is welcome back on 7/7. New hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM. We are operating on a day pass only model for now. Discounted bulk day pass packs ($10/ea.) available here.

+ Reservations are required so we can maintain a cap on folks in the building. Please reserve a slot in the room you would like to use. For Digital Fabrication, reserve a slot in the room online; when you come in, we will sign out the machine you would like to use to you at the front desk. Reservations can be made through your MindBody account, on the MindBody app, or by calling the front desk at 410-862-0424 starting 7/7.

+ Stay home if you’re sick, wash your hands frequently, and wear a mask!

Infrastructure Updates

We have been busy hammering away at many projects to keep you safe and improve the functioning of the whole facility.

Sneeze guards have been installed on (most) studios to raise the walls 16″ without impeding visual transparency. We will needhelp from some of you to move some shelves and leaning items in order to finish all of them.

We have deep cleaned the shops from top to bottom, reorganized flame cabinets, hung up ladders, figured out cart parking, re-shelved our 3D printers, and otherwise worked hard to make everything easier to find.

There are now 18 sanitation stations throughout the building. Each holds a hand sanitizer pump bottle, a spray bottle filled with disinfectant, and a paper towel dispenser. Please wipe down machines and touchpoints after use.

Reopening!

Make along with us with our ‘Making In Place’ Craft Kits! We’ve designed 6 awesome DIY activities for the junior makers in your life to keep their little hands active over summer break. Each kit includes supplies for six projects to make along with video tutorials available on Youtube.
