Open Works
SPECIAL COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello!
Thank you for being a part of the Open Works community.
In addition to our educational and community programs, Open Works supports dozens of small businesses and entrepreneurs who depend on our resources for their livelihoods. We take our commitment to all of our user’s safety extremely seriously. We also take our commitment to our user’s financial stability and well-being seriously, and so at this time, we have decided to remain open with some modifications to our schedule per Governor Hogan’s press conference this afternoon.
At this time we have no evidence anyone with the virus has come into Open Works or in contact with any staff or members here.
We are taking the following steps:
1. We are cancelling Senior Foundation classes until further notice per the Governor’s order closing all senior activity centers statewide.
2. We are cancelling Teen Maker Shop and Youth Maker Shop per the Governor’s order closing public schools through March 26th.
3. We are disinfecting commonly touched public surfaces throughout the building daily. We are asking members to self-disinfect surfaces such as keyboards, mice, and hand tools after use, much as you might wipe down the treadmill handles after use at the gym. We have provided disinfectant and shop towels in every shop and at the front desk.
4. If you are sick, or have been in close contact to a sick individual, please stay home.
5. Please refrain from personal contact such as handshaking, hugging, or touching other people’s phones while in our space.
6. If you, or anyone you know, has been diagnosed with COVID-19, it is extremely important that you inform us as soon as possible to we can take further steps to protect our community and comply with state public health orders.
7. We reserve the right to close the space completely if we believe anyone’s health or safety would be threatened by being here.
8. Keep calm and wash your hands!
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have further questions, feel free to call us at 410-862-0424 or email frontdesk@openworksbmore.com.
