COVID-19 CLOSURE EXTENDED
Hello!
We are deeply disappointed to announce that we will have to remain closed next week. The Governor’s emergency order closing bars, restaurants, and gyms has been extended to shopping malls and gatherings of over ten people. At this point, the closure order is indefinite.
That sounds scary, we know! Don’t worry, we have been working super-hard behind the scenes to get resources together to help our community through this. Social distancing aside, community is what has made us, and community is what will save us.
– The Baltimore Development Corporation is asking local businesses to fill out this survey to understand what kind of business assistance to provide once federal dollars become available.
– Made in Baltimore has come up with a supplemental survey for Maker businesses. Please fill this out, it will be critical as we collectively lobby elected officials to craft a bailout that helps the grassroots instead of flowing just to big enterprises.
Ok, you’ve scanned the resources, you’ve taken some surveys, you’ve taken a couple of huge yoga breaths . . . onto Open Works-specific issues.
– Need to come get mail/packages/or stuff from your studio? We’ve been checking every day and bringing in mail for you. Please sign up for a 30 minute appointment here to retrieve whatever you need next week. At this time, we are doing one at a time to maintain social distancing. We may expand that based on demand.
– Worried about billing? Don’t be! Members are our foundation, and we are committed to doing everything we can to soften the impact on your finances. We will not be billing for studios or memberships until we know when we will reopen.
– However, we still need your help! Without classes, memberships, studio rentals, or events, we don’t have much revenue coming in (but we still got bills, y’all). We would be so grateful if you chipped in a few dollars to our online donation portal or went ahead and bought a few day passes to use when we are allowed to open again. In fact, we appreciate y’all SO MUCH, we are offering a 20% sale on day passes online using offer code BETTERDAYSAHEAD20.
Keep clam, stay safe, and wash your hands.
