Traffic-Calming Charette
Help us make Greenmount West a safer place to walk, bike, and play! We have partnered with the Greenmount West Community Association, BYKE, and the MICA School of Social Design to make some local traffic interventions to calm down zooming cars on Greenmount, Guilford, and Oliver. Join us for a community input meeting on Feb. 5 at 6 PM.
MICA Up/Start
Are you a MICA student or alumnus? Then you are eligible to apply for Up/Start, MICA’s annual business competition. Last year’s winner was Open Works’ very own Greenmount Tile Co.! The deadline is TODAY at midnight, so you’ve got 13 hours left . . . stop reading this email and get to work!
We’re Hiring!
Are you a maker? Do you love working with people? Have you always wanted to make a difference in Baltimore City? Want to join in on shenanigans like flossing a dust collector? Join our team! We are looking for some help at our front desk and on our technician crew. If you are a capable, dynamic, technically-skilled and people-oriented self-starter, send a resume and cover letter to frontdesk@openworksbmore.com.
Coffee Corner
Check out this beautiful souvenir that Thread co-owner Nani brought back from her trip to visit Las Diosas, the truly incredible women farmer cooperative in Nicaragua. A nice little reminder that women are powerful and all that we can accomplish when we work together. Keep an eye out for her report back to be announced soon!
